Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Commercialization Programs
Small businesses receive more than $2 billion in federal grants and contracts each year through the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs. These funds are an excellent source of early-stage funding for technology startups that are developing innovative products that can address national needs in healthcare, defense, agriculture, education, and much more. TRDA offers a range of SBIR proposal development and educational services to entrepreneurs and Florida-based technology startups. You can learn more about the SBIR program and find topics with funding available at www.zyn.com.
SBIR Proposal Development Workshops
TRDA offers ongoing SBIR proposal development workshops throughout Florida each year. Workshops are intensive, day-long workshops that are led by instructors that are experts on the federal SBIR grant program. These workshops will introduce participants to the SBIR program, and provide detailed guidance on how to write award-winning proposals. Workshops are available for Phase I Proposal Development, Phase II Proposal Development and for developing proposal budgets. Click HERE for a calendar of upcoming TRDA SBIR workshops.
SBIR Proposal Development Services
TRDA has onsite staff and a network of partners that are available to TRDA client companies interested in pursuing SBIR funding. Collectively, these resources are able to identify relevant topics, provide advice on agency-specific criteria and critique SBIR proposals before submission to help increase the likelihood of winning an SBIR award.
DoD SBIR Commercialization Assistance Program
The Department of Defense (DOD) awards more than $1 billion a year through its Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grants program. During the last 5 years more than $60 million of these grants in the form of SBIR Phase II awards went to Florida companies. The potential for these projects to generate economic impact is huge. That impact is further multiplied when these grantees are connected with private sector capital and the right government/industry contacts.
TRDA’s Commercialization Assistance Program supports DoD in realizing the goal of achieving commercial “wins” with their SBIR investments. The TRDA program identifies the most promising DoD SBIR Phase II technologies in Florida and provides:
