TRDA Awards $30,000 Venture Smart Funding to Coconut Grove Company
 

The Venture Smart Program of the Technological Research and Development Authority (TRDA) announces the award of $30,000 to SRT Group, Inc. of Coconut Grove, FL.

The Venture Smart Program, sponsored by the Department of Community Affairs’ Florida Energy Office, helps energy related companies in Florida obtain business development services to increase their attractiveness to investors and venture capitalists.

SRT Group, Inc. is developing an innovative technology to economically remove sulphur dioxide from coal fired power plant smoke stacks. The technology not only improves the emissions of power plants, it allows them to use higher sulphur, higher energy coal without loss of air quality. The process also produces hydrogen while removing pollutants. Many experts predict that hydrogen will be the fuel of the future. SRT Group has been invited to present their technology, and the business case for developing it, at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) 15th Industry Growth Forum being held at the end of October in Albany, NY.
