38th SPACE CONGRESS

Cape Canaveral, FL – Once a year, the top aerospace companies, organizations, and universities gather together during a 5-day conference called Space Congress.  Space Congress is an international conference focused primarily towards professionals in the space industry, including other professional space organizations that make space exploration possible.  The State of Florida’s Technological Research and Development Authority (TRDA) was proud to be a part again of this year’s 38th Space Congress, which was held on May 1-4, 2001.  TRDA sponsors programs with the initiative to transfer space technology into schools and businesses.

Honored guest speakers including Retired Lt. General and astronaut Tom Stafford were the dinner speakers. In addition, throughout the week, seminars were given with topics covering Defense/Commercial, International and Science. Participants were provided the opportunity to learn and to contribute to the advancement of space operations.  Other discussions were given on the impact of past space exploration efforts and the impact of space technology transfer to our everyday lives. In addition, discussions were made on current efforts that are being developed for the permanent presence of mankind in space.

Space Congress provides the opportunity to consider concepts that are emerging for the exploration of space.  In addition, Space Congress challenges participants to endeavor on an innovative vision for the future.
