The Endeavour Academy

  • New workshop providers are the Mote Marine Lab, National High Magnetic Field Laboratory at Florida State University, Pinellas Science Center, Busch Gardens, Brevard Zoo, Harry P. Leu Gardens, Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute, South Florida Water Management District, St. John’s River Water Management District, Tibet Butler Preserve, and Tallahassee Museum.

     
  • New online workshop providers include Valley City State University and Texas Instruments.

  • The Endeavour Academy continues to expand statewide reach and frequency by offering specialized traveling workshops for districts.

  • More than 20,000 workshop catalogs have been distributed statewide over the last month.

  • After six months of offering professional development workshops, The Endeavour Academy has reached nearly 350 teachers and offered 2,638 instructional hours.


SEE NASA

  • The Wal-mart stores in Palm Bay, Merritt Island and St. Augustine each donated $1,000 to sponsor local fifth grade students in the two-day SEE NASA program.


Sunshine State Scholars

  • School districts are gearing up for the selection of distinguished graduating seniors as representatives at the Sunshine State Scholars regional competition in January followed by the statewide competition in March. The TRD Foundation funds the six finalists’ scholarships and provides teacher recognition grants for the program.
