The Endeavour Academy Hosts Teacher Professional Development Workshop

Time Lapse Photography with Computer Microscopes Comes to Escambia County

       Pensacola, Fla. – June 3, 2002 – Under a newly established group of traveling workshops, The Endeavour Academy, a teacher professional development organization, will offer Time Lapse Photography with Computer Microscopes to Escambia County teachers in grades 2 – 9. The workshop will be held in Pensacola on June 26 –27 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

During the workshop teachers will use the Intelplay computer microscope to display specimens on the screen. Using computer microscopes allows teachers to create slide shows or even record movies using time-lapse photography. Like all of The Endeavour Academy workshops, teachers receive take home equipment to use in the classroom. Teachers will receive a free, new Intelplay computer microscope after attending both workshop sessions as well as a $120 stipend.

The Endeavour Academy is a teacher professional development resource offering science, math, and technology content-based workshops and summer internships. The Academy is designed to deliver unique, hands-on training, using resources from the space program, high tech industry, and research institutions to help school districts broaden teacher knowledge in the fields of math, science and technology. The Endeavour Academy was established by the Technological Research and Development Authority and is funded by grants from the US and Florida Departments of Education and revenue from the Challenger License plate.
