TRDA Elects Board Officers for the 2005-06 year

Titusville , Fla. – November 18, 2005 – The Tech nological Research and Development Authority (TRDA) Board of Commissioners elected new board officers on November 16, 2005 . Held at TRDA’s boardroom in Titusville , the group selected officers for the 2005-06 year.

Board Chairman Pamela Luckett has served as a TRDA board member since 2000 and has been vice-chair for the past two years. She is an assistant information technology academic coordinator and assistant professor of information technology at Barry University and also serves as director of the Technology Educational Consortium. Before joining Barry, Luckett was a technical training manager at Johnson Controls, as well as an adjunct professor at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University at Patrick Air Force Base. Her Ph.D. is in science education and computer education.

Vice-Chairman Dan Adovasio is a Merritt Island-based State Farm agent and 18-year resident of the area. He has served on the boards of both the Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast and the Cocoa Beach Chamber of Commerce. Adovasio has also participated in the development of the Brevard County Charter as a member of the Charter Commission.

Secretary Peter DiLavore is the owner-broker of DiLavore Properties in Melbourne and is a long-time Brevard County resident. He remains active in the community as a real estate professional and small business owner. He has served as the president of the Melbourne Area Association of Realtors, a member of the Kiwanis Club of Melbourne, a literacy tutor, and board member of the Embers Alzheimer's Day Care Center. DiLavore has also been a gubernatorial appointee to the East Central Florida Planning Council.

Also recognized for his service to the TRDA Board was board chairman, Al Glover, who will continue to serve on the TRDA Board along with Henry Parrish.

“The newly elected officers bring considerable leadership to the TRDA and I look forward to working closely with them as we enter another budget year,” said Executive Director Frank Kinney. “Let me also note the superb job that Chairman Glover and vice-chair Luckett have done guiding our special district in the past two years,” Kinney said.
