RAINEY APPOINTED TO BOARD OF TITUSVILLE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
Director of Florida/NASA Business Incubation Center to serve as an advisor

TITUSVILLE - Tom Rainey, director of the Florida/NASA Business Incubation Center (FNBIC), was recently appointed to the Titusville Chamber of Commerce's board of directors as a liaison representative. In this position, Rainey will attend monthly board meetings and provide valuable strategic guidance to the chamber, as well as give regular reports on the status of the FNBIC.

Rainey was one of four people selected to serve as a liaison representative, a non-voting role within the board of directors. Representatives from the Canaveral Port Authority, the City of Titusville and the Space Coast Economic Development Commission will fill the other positions.

"The Titusville Chamber of Commerce's theme for this year is "Building Bridges," especially between the Chamber and partner institutions that contribute to the economic development of our community, such as the Incubator," said Albert M. Koller, Jr., DBA and chairman of the board. "Tom has a strong reputation for his expertise. He will not only provide us with insight into the daily activities of the Incubator, we will be able to provide him with leads on how to market his program even more effectively. His appointment was an easy marriage to make," he added. As director of the FNBIC, Rainey oversees the four-year-old program, which seeks to encourage and stimulate technology-based, small business formulation, growth and success in Brevard County. The incubator provides affordable space and shared office equipment and services, thereby reducing many of the costs associated with establishing and operating a small business. The program is managed through a joint partnership of Florida's Technological Research and Development Authority (TRDA), NASA/Kennedy Space Center and Brevard Community College.
