The Space Plate, the first specialty license plate in the United States, honors the crews of the Space Shuttle Challenger and Columbia. Originally launched in 1987 by the State of Florida, it remains one of the top 10 choices among Florida drivers.
Proceeds from Space Plate sales are shared between the TRDA and The Astronauts Memorial Foundation. A mere $27 investment in the Space Plate provides funding for innovative teacher development programs and out-of-this-world educational opportunities for a new generation of student explorers.
